APC Members Mobilize Massive Support for Tinubu, Karimi at Kabba Day Despite High Court Ruling

The ancient town of Kabba was turned into a sea of blue and white on Saturday as supporters of the Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Sunday Karimi, staged a massive political mobilization for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The annual Kabba Day celebration provided the backdrop for the show of force, with APC faithful and loyalists of the lawmaker trooping out in large numbers despite a recent Federal High Court ruling in Abuja regarding the suit challenging his emergence as the party’s candidate for the senatorial district. Undeterred by the judicial backdrop, hundreds of supporters flooded the streets of the historic town, marching, dancing, and chanting solidarity songs in what political observers have characterized as a strong demonstration of grassroots acceptance and political strength.

Although Senator Karimi was absent from the cultural event, he was fully represented by a high-powered delegation. In a message delivered on his behalf, the lawmaker announced the release of N30 million into the bank account of the Kabba Community Development Union. The latest disbursement fulfills his earlier pledge to the community, bringing his total direct financial contribution to the development of Kabba to N50 million, following a previous baseline payment of N20 million.

Senator Karimi reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the holistic infrastructure and socio-economic advancement of Kabba, Okunland, and the broader Kogi West Senatorial District. He commended traditional rulers, community leaders, and the entire populace of Kabba for maintaining the heritage event, describing Kabba Day as an indispensable platform for fostering regional unity, preserving cultural identity, and driving community-led development initiatives.

Leveraging the gathering, the Kogi West lawmaker appealed to his constituents to unite in firm support for President Tinubu’s administration and his re-election bid. He urged the people of the senatorial district to objectively assess the policies, economic reforms, and landmark developmental projects of the present administration as the country prepares for the upcoming presidential contest.

Reiterating his dedication to effective legislative representation, Senator Karimi assured constituents that he remains focused on delivering tangible democratic dividends across Kogi West, particularly through continuous investments in public infrastructure, educational empowerment, human capital development, and social welfare programs.

The 2026 Kabba Day celebration brought together prominent indigenes of Kabba, traditional rulers, political stalwarts, community leaders, and dignitaries from across the state to celebrate the cultural legacy and collective aspirations of the ancient kingdom.
