The candidate of the Accord Party for Mopamuro Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Mr Babarinde Oloke, has promised to bring government closer to the people and deliver dividends of democracy if elected.
Oloke stated this in an interview with journalists on the sideline of the 100 years anniversary celebration of Takete Ide community in Mopamuro Local Government Area of the state.

“My plan is to bring government to the people and let them feel the presence of government. Aspiring to be in government is one thing, the willingness to give your people what they deserve is another,” he said.
He noted that while the President and Governor cannot be everywhere, representatives have a role to play in ensuring the people feel the impact of governance.
“My role is to make sure the people of Mopamuro feel the dividends of government. Let people know what is happening and that the governor and the President are doing the right thing.
“It is not about representing them and being empty without the people feeling the presence of government,” Oloke said.
The Accord candidate said his aspiration was driven by a desire to give Mopamuro people what they deserve for their development and well-being.
On the 2027 general elections, Oloke called on his constituents to come out en masse to vote for Accord Party.
“I want my people to come out massively to vote for Accord Party and for Babarinde Oloke. By the special grace of God, I will not disappoint them.
“Mopamuro people will enjoy the dividends of democracy and they will be proud to have a representative in the State House of Assembly for the first time,” he said.
Speaking on the centenary celebration, Oloke described Takete Ide as a welcoming and lovely community, noting that although he hails from Mopa, Takete is also his home.
“Takete Ide is our home. Today we are celebrating 100 years and it is a beautiful gathering. The people are welcoming and they love people around them.
“My prayer is that by next year, when I become a member of the State House of Assembly by God’s grace, we will all gather here again to celebrate 101 years of Takete Ide in a more beautiful way,” he added.
