Former Inter Milan and Super Eagles forward, Obafemi Martins, is set to host the Renewed Hope Football Tournament – PBAT-KOH 2027, an initiative designed to empower Nigerian youths through grassroots football, mentorship, skills development and access to educational and career opportunities.
The tournament, being organised in partnership with the Obafemi Martins Foundation and the City Boy Movement, led by the President’s son, Seyi Tinubu, is aimed at harnessing the potential of young Nigerians while promoting community engagement, talent discovery and youth development across the country.
The initiative is structured as an opportunity and empowerment programme that seeks to use football as a platform to help young people develop their abilities, build confidence and connect with training and employment opportunities.
Organisers say the tournament will cover Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, providing aspiring footballers with opportunities to showcase their talents and compete for recognition.
More than 5,000 Nigerian youths are expected to participate in the competition, which will feature the presence of football scouts from Europe. Outstanding players will have opportunities to attract international attention, while scholarships will also be awarded to footballers who excel during the tournament.
Beyond the football competition, the Renewed Hope Football Tournament – PBAT-KOH 2027 is designed to incorporate structured youth activities, mentorship, technology and open community engagement forums.

The programme also seeks to create constructive avenues for young Nigerians to participate in community life, acquire relevant skills and explore pathways to further education and employment.
The grand finale of the tournament is scheduled to hold on November 28, 2026, at the Onikan Stadium Arena in Lagos State, where outstanding participants from the competition are expected to converge.
Through the collaboration between the Obafemi Martins Foundation and the City Boy Movement, the organisers hope to combine the popularity of football with practical youth empowerment initiatives, creating opportunities for talent discovery and community development across Nigeria.
