The Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) has assured customers and stakeholders that its operations remain uninterrupted following the fire incident that affected part of its Head Office in Abuja on Saturday night.

In an update issued on Monday by the Group Head of Corporate Communications, Joe Abuku, the bank said the fire, which broke out on the second floor of its headquarters on August 1, was successfully contained before it could spread to other parts of the building.

According to the statement, although the incident caused damage to office furniture, equipment and appliances in the affected section, critical official documents remain secure.

“Whilst there has been some damage to office furniture, equipment and appliances in the affected areas, we are grateful to report that official documents that were affected are securely backed up electronically, with cloud storage, thanks to technology!” the bank stated.

FMBN added that investigations were still ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
