Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have arrested a suspected terrorist collaborator in Kaduna State, destroyed three improvised explosive devices in Zamfara State and recovered 73 livestock abandoned by fleeing terrorists.
The operations were carried out on October 8, 2026, according to a statement on Friday by the task force’s Media Information Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja.
Danja said troops of Sector 1 arrested the suspect, identified as Yusuf Adamu, at Kuyello in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, following intelligence reports linking him to terrorist activities.
He said preliminary interrogation revealed that Adamu allegedly recorded a video of a female kidnap victim who was sexually assaulted by terrorists to facilitate a ransom demand.
The suspect reportedly claimed that the victim was killed after the ransom was delivered and that he received ₦50,000 for his role in the operation.

The statement added that investigations were ongoing to apprehend the alleged principal suspect, Yusuf Iliya Sani, and other collaborators.
In Zamfara State, troops of Sector 2, working with personnel of the Nigeria Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal team, located and destroyed three improvised explosive devices planted by terrorists along the Magami–Dansadau road.
According to Danja, the operation was aimed at addressing the threat posed by the explosives and improving the safety of residents and road users along the route.
In a separate operation, troops of Sector 2 responded to intelligence about terrorists moving rustled livestock between Kombo and Gurusu villages in Zamfara State.
The troops engaged the suspected terrorists, forcing them to flee and abandon the animals.
The recovered livestock comprised 14 camels, 19 cows and 40 sheep. The statement said the troops, working with local vigilantes, moved the animals to a secure location for further action.
Danja said the operations demonstrated the commitment of troops and other security agencies to dismantling terrorist support networks, neutralising explosive threats and protecting lives and property.
He urged members of the public to continue providing credible and timely information on suspicious persons, movements and objects to the nearest security formation to support ongoing operations.
