Recall that President Tinubu nominated Kemi Nandap as the Comptroller-General of the NIS on  Feb. 21, 2024 and the Senate confirmed the appointment on March 1, 2024.

According to Onanuga, the approval followed a recommendation by the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo to address the succession gap in both services and allow the board enough time to appoint successors.

Onanuga quoted President Tinubu as commending Nandap and Nwakuche and for the reforms achieved under their leadership and charged them to consolidate these gains.
