PDP House of Reps Candidate Seun Ibigbemi Targets 55 Solar-Powered Boreholes to End Water Scarcity in Yagba Land

  • “Operation Water for All” delivers 25 boreholes in Mopamuro, with 30 more on the way across Yagba East and West

Seun Ibigbemi, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives candidate for Yagba Federal Constituency, has begun installing 55 solar-powered boreholes across the constituency. The project is meant to ease a long-running shortage of drinking water.

Twenty-five boreholes have been completed in Mopamuro Local Government Area, according to a statement from the Seun Ibigbemi Media Office. Beneficiary communities include Okeagi, Itakete-ide, Ilai, Yeke, Okedagun, Ayeteju and Ileteju.

The statement said work is under way on 30 additional boreholes across Yagba East and Yagba West Local Government Areas.

The project, named “Operation Water for All,” is being carried out under the L.A Ibigbemi Foundation and sponsored by Ibigbemi. The statement said it will bring clean, reliable water closer to thousands of residents who have lived with scarcity for years.

It described the effort as one of the most ambitious grassroots infrastructure drives in Yagba in recent memory. The statement said the boreholes are expected to give communities year-round access to safe water and spare residents the long treks they now make to unsafe sources.

Residents of the benefiting communities welcomed the intervention, according to the statement. They described Ibigbemi as an “emancipator” who had come to rescue them from years of hardship caused by the lack of water.
