The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is set to declare open the 53rd Annual General Meeting and Congress of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria, scheduled to hold in Lagos.
The industry event, which will run from 23 to 24 July 2026, at the Providence Hotel in Ikeja GRA, will bring together advertising executives, marketing experts, media directors, policy regulators, and key players across the broader creative economy to deliberate on the critical forces transforming the marketing communications landscape.
This year’s congress is themed ‘AdVolution: The End of Advertising as We Know It and How to Win What Comes Next.’
The theme addresses the rapid integration of artificial intelligence, digital ecosystems, shifting consumer preferences, and the rise of the creator economy, which are collectively redefining brand connections and value delivery.
Speaking ahead of the congress, the President of the AAAN, Lanre Adisa, emphasised that the theme captured the urgency of the moment.
Adisa said, “This year’s AGM comes at a defining moment for our industry. AdVolution captures the reality we are all facing, a period of big change that is reshaping how we work, create, and deliver value. This gathering is an opportunity for industry players to come together, exchange ideas, and shape the next chapter of advertising in Nigeria.”
The two-day event will commence on 23 July with a closed-door business session reserved for registered members. This session will cover the president’s stewardship report, committee updates, and strategic discussions concerning the association’s growth.
The main conference on 24 July will feature high-level participation from both federal and state authorities. Joining Governor Sanwo-Olu as a distinguished guest is the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris.
Also expected to attend is the Director-General of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria, Dr Lekan Fadolapo, alongside senior government officials and institutional leaders from the marketing and media sectors.
The conference will feature keynote presentations from prominent industry figures, including the Chief Marketing Officer of Fidelity Bank, Dr Meksley Nwagboh, and the Chief Executive Officer of Big Cabal Media, Mr Tomiwa Aladekomo. Both speakers are expected to deliver insights on navigating technological disruption and capturing emerging consumer niches.
The 53rd AGM will culminate in the annual AAAN Gala and Awards Night, designed to recognise outstanding creativity, leadership, and professional contributions within the Nigerian advertising industry.
