The Congress of the Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU) Alumni Association has suspended its National President, Dr. Atabor Aruwa Julius, over alleged abuse of office, and replaced him with Vice President (Kogi Central), Prince Puke Simpa Isaac.
The decision was taken at an emergency Congress meeting of the association held in Lokoja.
The Congress also moved immediately to fill the vacancy created by the suspension. It elected the National Vice President (Central) to take over without delay and avoid a leadership vacuum in the association.

The association’s legal adviser, Barrister Aliyu Idah, swore in Prince Puke as National President shortly after the Congress’s decision.
Prince Puke is the first person from Kogi Central to emerge as president of the alumni association. He is also its seventh National President.
Reacting to the development, the association’s National Secretary, Mr. Ogu Ukubile Acho, thanked members of the National Executive Committee and the Congress for what he described as their prompt intervention.
The Congress urged members to remain law-abiding and to support the growth and development of the university.
The statement did not give details of the specific allegations against Julius. He had not publicly responded to the suspension at the time of this report.
